Itinerary:

Day 1: Depart Auckland head to the Coromandel Peninsula

• Today we head out of Auckland towards the Coromandel Peninsula
• The morning is a relaxing scenic drive.
• The coast road of the peninsula is one of the most scenic drives in the country.
• We’ll stop in the lovely Coromandel township for lunch.
• Then we’ll drive across the peninsula to the amazing cathedral cove walk.
• Depending on the timing we will either go to Hot water beach in the evening or the following morning
• Stay Hahei.

Day 2: Whangamata/Waitomo

• Today we travel down the peninsula to the beach resort town of Whangamata
• Here you can try paddle boarding, surfing or other beach related activities
• Then after lunch we continue down to the amazing Waitomo caves
• Visit one of the cave systems
• Stay Waitomo

Day 3: Waitomo/Hobbiton/Rotorua

• We will visit one of the local cave systems in the morning before
• Then we go to the famous movie set of Hobbiton
• After lunch we’ll continue to Rotorua
• Possibility of an evening show & meal at the Mitai village
• Or a relaxing soak in the Polynesian spa, or Hell's gate mud pools
• Stay Rotorua

Day 4: Rotorua

• We have an entire day of local attractions in Rotorua, it is renowned as being a playground for all ages.
• Stay Rotorua

Day 5: Taupo/Ohakune

• We depart Rotorua & head to Lake Taupo.
• Along the way we’ll stop at Wai-O-Tapu, geothermal wonderland
• Then another stop at the famous Huka Falls, opportunity to go Jet boating
• In Taupo you have many options including fantastic Bungy jumping.
• After Taupo we continue down the Island through the Desert Road to Ohakune
• We’ll pass the largest active volcanoes in the country
• Stay Ohakune Lodge

Day 6: Ohakune/Tongariro crossing

• We have an entire day here in the mountainous region
• We have many options for beautiful walks here, including the famous Tongariro crossing
• Stay Ohakune

 
Day 7: Rangitikei Farmstay

• After breakfast we continue down the North Island to the Rangitikei region
• We’ll stop at the wonderful Rangitikei farmstay, a genuine operating NZ farm.
• They offer a wonderful scenic retreat in the New Zealand hill country.
• There are many animals, a sheep shearing demonstration, lovely walks etc
• We’ll have an authentic NZ BBQ with local produce in the evening

Day 8: Wellington

• We depart the farmstay & head to the Capital city of Wellington
• Along the way we have the option to pass through Martinborough for wine tasting
• Once in Wellington we’ll have a scenic orientation drive around the city
• Free evening to enjoy town.

Day 9: Wellington - Nelson

• Today we’re off to the South Island.
• The ferry crossing to Picton is one of the most beautiful boat rides in the country.
• Once in the south we’ll drive through the stunning Queen Charlotte sound to our destination of Nelson
• Stay Nelson

Day 10: Nelson-Kaikoura

• We continue down the east coast of the South Island to Kaikoura.
• Here we have the option to head out whale/dolphin watching
• Stay Kaikoura

Day 11: Kaikoura – Tekapo

• We drive inland today to the amazing town of Tekapo.
• Here we can visit the iconic famous observatory
• Option of a helicopter ride out to the glaciers
• Stay Tekapo

Day 12: Tekapo – Queenstown

• Option of a morning heli trip to the glaciers
• Then it’s off to Queenstown
  
• Option to stop at the Gibston Valley winery
• Queenstown offers many options such as Bungy/rafting/jetboat etc
• Stay Queenstown

 
Day 13: Queenstown

• There is a huge selection of activities in Queenstown,
• These are best organised once in town depending on what people wish to do
• Milford day trip; luge; Bungy; arrowtown day trip etc.
• Stay Queenstown

Day 14: Queenstown – Auckland

• Today is the day to head back to Auckland,
• Depending on the time of your flights we can see more of Queenstown
• Then it is farewell from us!
• Depart for Auckland
